Our story:
Queen of Hearts Tattoo began in 1991 in Radcliff, Kentucky, just outside Fort Knox Army Base, founded by artist Angel Moon. Two years later, in 1993, Angel expanded by opening a second location in Nashville, Tennessee. After receiving such a warm welcome from the Nashville community, she made the decision in 1995 to close the Kentucky studio and focus her energy on the thriving Nashville location.

After more than 30 years of tattooing and 23 years of studio ownership, Angel retired in September 2014. Having raised her two daughters, Crystal and Dixie, in the shop, she passed the torch to her oldest daughter, Crystal. Since then, Crystal has worked to honor Queen of Hearts’ old-school roots while also introducing new traditions and elevating the studio for the next generation of artists and clients. Though Crystal owns the shop, Dixie stands right beside her as the studio’s lead piercer.

Just as Angel raised her daughters in the business, Crystal and Dixie are now raising their own children around the studio hoping to one day make Queen of Hearts a proud third-generation legacy.

Over the years, Queen of Hearts has endured challenges that tested their strength and dedication from a car crashing into the building in 2006, to an electrical fire in 2007, to surviving the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Through it all, the studio has remained committed to serving Nashville’s incredible community.

Queen of Hearts Tattoo looks forward to continuing this tradition of artistry, resilience, and family for many years to come.
