Aftercare Instructions

Your tattoo or piercing is an investment. How you care for it in the days and weeks after your session determines how well it heals — and how good it looks for years to come.

Tattoo Aftercare

Protecting Your New Tattoo

01

Keep It Covered

Leave the bandage or Saniderm wrap on for the time your artist recommends — typically 2–4 hours for traditional wrap, or 3–5 days for Saniderm.

02

Wash Gently

Remove the bandage and wash with lukewarm water and a fragrance-free soap. Pat dry with a clean paper towel — never rub.

03

Moisturize

Apply a thin layer of unscented lotion or Redemption aftercare balm 2–3 times daily. Less is more — a thin coat is all you need.

04

Protect from the Sun

Keep your tattoo out of direct sunlight during healing. Once healed, always apply SPF 30+ to preserve color and line quality.

05

No Soaking

Avoid pools, hot tubs, and long baths for at least 2–3 weeks. Showers are fine — just keep them brief over the tattooed area.

06

Don't Pick or Scratch

Peeling and itching are normal. Resist the urge to pick — pulling off dry skin can pull out ink and damage your tattoo.

Piercing Aftercare

Caring for Your New Piercing

01

Saline Solution

Clean your piercing twice daily with a sterile saline wound wash (NeilMed Wound Wash or similar). Spray directly on the piercing and let it air dry.

02

Hands Off

Only touch your piercing when cleaning, and always wash your hands first. Unnecessary touching introduces bacteria and prolongs healing.

03

Leave the Jewelry In

Do not remove or change your jewelry during the healing period. Even a briefly removed piece can cause the channel to close or irritate the piercing.

04

Avoid Harsh Products

No alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, Bactine, or antibacterial soaps. These disrupt the healing process and can cause irritation bumps.

05

Sleep Smart

Use a travel pillow or clean pillowcase to avoid putting pressure on ear piercings overnight. Pressure can cause migration and irritation.

06

Watch for Signs

Some redness and swelling in the first few days is normal. Persistent pain, excessive swelling, or discharge that isn't clear may indicate an issue — come see us.
